HWAYO Brand identity, naming and packaging design for Hwayo, the leader in premium distilled soju of South Korea.
한국의 증류식 소주 시장에서 오랫동안 1위를 지켜온 화요의 BI, 네이밍, 패키지 디자인을 진행하였습니다.











The name ‘Hwayo’ is from the Chinese character for soju, 
deconstructing the first character ‘So’ into two.
Divided, ‘Hwa’ means fire, and ‘Yo’ means something noble. 
Together, the name means a noble spirit, meticulously refined through fire.






More than for 20 years, 
the name Hwayo and its BI design 
continue to be widely used, recognised, and loved.
